The Bowie State University Bulldogs tacked another win onto their dominant season, blasting the Lincoln University Lions, 57-3, on Oct. 31 in Bowie, Md.

The Bulldogs extended their current win streak to six games and maintained first place in the Central Interscholastic Athletic Association (CIAA) with an 8-1 overall record, 6-0 against the CIAA.

Bowie State lit up the scoreboard on offense, but it was the Bulldogs’ defense that truly dominated Lincoln. Freshman cornerback Quinton Jordan scored the first points of the game on an interception returned 46 yards for a touchdown. Freshman linebacker Kyle Jackson also scored on a fumble he recovered and ran back 65 yards for a score.

Bulldogs freshman quarterback Nyema Washington had a strong performance, completing 20 of 31 pass attempts for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Graduate running back Kendall Jefferson ran well, picking up 95 yards and two touchdowns on just 13 carries.

Lincoln running back Stephen Scott led the game with 147 rushing yards on 28 carries, but the Lions (3-6 overall, 1-5 CIAA) never got close to the end zone, managing only a field goal against the Bulldogs’ offense.

Next: Bowie State will play its regular season finale on Nov. 7 against Elizabeth City State (4-4 overall, 2-4 CIAA) in Elizabeth City, N.C.; a win will seal the CIAA title for the Bulldogs.
