Afro-American Newspapers (the "AFRO") has one of the most
intriguing and powerful sites on the web today. With over 100 years of
African American history on-line, the AFRO's home page
"AFRO Americ@"
combines technology and
content to present the Black experience in America as seen through the
eyes of Black reporters. Using AT&T's
InterSpan® Frame Relay Service
for their wide area network, the AFRO has digitally connected its
three offices in Baltimore, Richmond and Washington, D.C., as well as its
printer whose offices are located in Gaithersberg, Maryland. In doing this,
the AFRO has
transformed its business
from a local newspaper to a global World Wide Web pioneer.
