One day, a very long time ago, Izanami, the mother of all, and Izanagi, the father of all, gave birth to a beautiful little girl. She was bright and radiant and her light filled the land.
She was so dazzling that her mother exclaimed, "Our daughter is the most wondrous of all our children. We must not keep her on Earth. Let us place her high in Heaven, that she may rule the sky."
