The young girl was truly beautiful, and she climbed high into the sky where she could look down on the lands below.
To the plants and animals she provided warmth and light. She taught the people how to weave cloth, and how to grow rice and millet. All loved her dearly and named her Amaterasu Omikami, which meant Heaven Shining Great Woman.
