Amaterasu had a younger brother who was very loud and frightening. His name was Susanowo, which meant Brave Strong Impetuous Man. He ruled the mighty oceans.
Susanowo wasn't like his sister. He was angry and loud, and stomped across the earth, tearing whole mountains up and making great valleys with his feet. Even his breath tore the branches off of the trees.
