    BMA African American artists
in the collection of The Baltimore Museum of Art

In honor of Black History Month, the AFRO-Americ@ Gallery and The Baltimore Museum of Art bring you a sample of some of the brilliant work that has been produced by black artists in the United States over the past century.

The Baltimore Museum of Art, Maryland's largest art museum, houses a permanent collection of over 100,000 objects, ranging from ancient mosaics to contemporary art. The BMA's Cone Collection is one of the most outstanding collections of modern art in the world. The Museum also features an American Wing with superb furniture, paintings, and decorative arts; art from Africa, the Americas, and Oceania; a distinguished collection of Chinese ceramics; European Old Masters; and one of the finest collections of prints, drawings, and photographs in the United States. Each year the Museum offers many special exhibitions ranging across a broad spectrum of visual culture from antiquity to the present.

Special thanks to The BMA for allowing these works to be shown here.
