What strengths can black women bring to the economic development of our community?

Many of the responses have been philosphical and rather academic. On a practical level Black women can and should make a point to know what Black owned businesses (beyond hair salons and funeral parlors) are available to them and patronize those businesses. Use that wonderful knack we have for spreading the news to tell people about the great (Black owned) tax preparer, dress maker, bank etc. Spend money where the owners and employees look like you.

I think that African American women can bring strength, creativity and hopfulnee to teir communities.
We can help bring up our status in the community with education and helping others.

I think that one needs to bring intelligence, creativity and productivity to economic development - and anyone who can - should. Although I am very successful in the workplace - I would be happy to go home and work with or for the man I have been waiting for.

I feel that the black woman has helped tremendously in economic development on the whole. I would like to see more of a helping hand for our black brothers who need that chance to prove themselves. Of course the brothers need to make sure that they are ready for the challege to be place before them.
