If dole won my life would not change in the slightest
because there is not much difference between
the two choices. They are both bought and paid
for by corporations and so are beholden to business
interests and not us, the people. This country
has a one party system with two wings--republicrat,
demublican. That is why I voted for fidel castro, the strongest
protest vote I could think of. At least in cuba there is universal healthcare and literacy. Can we say the same.

If Bob Dole wins, I will go on with life as I did before. Unlike Ronald Reagan, I think Mr. Dole is fairly moderate, and not as different from Pres. Clinton aseither candidate would lead us to believe. Sure there are ideological differences between the Democratic and Republican parties, but they are largely symbolic. The ambivalence I face is that the politician who would do the most for us (African Americans) is not necessarily the politician who would best benefit us. And the politican who would best benefit us would not necessarily best serve ALL of us.
We have got to stop looking at the battles and get serious about the WAR. ( And I do not mean flesh and blood.)
Politics seeks first its own. Do not forget this.

Let's See Now!!!!
If old Billy Bob wins, I will probably be working two jobs. My wife would seek additional employment, meaning two jobs. My taxes would go up again, then the IRS will say, "give me more of our money." Then I would feel bad, because I like holding onto my money too.
But hey! didn't Clinton win last time. So the above paragraph means I will be doing the same thing again, anyway.
Then the media will tell me everything is fine, or I'am a victim, so I tell my children they will be a victim too. Let's see, drop out of school, get pregnant, don't take getting an education serious. Then we can blame the Republicans this term and the Democrats next term. Maybe one day we will blame ourselves, eventually.

Work real hard over the next four years to get him out of office and at the same time work doubly hard to increase the number of Democrats in the House and the Senate.

If Dole wins I think we can prepare ourselves as a group of people, to get ready for the Regan years part two. Republicans just don't want or desire to have us around. They court their choice negro's but they leave the rest of us out to pasture. How can we tolerate this. Vote

If Bob Dole wins, I will expect progress to become regress, parity to become imparity and life to continue, but in a much more oppressive condition. Don't get me wrong, Bill Clinton is not the savior, but he has made more strides toward ameliorating the condition of the African American family than any previous president, unless you want to count the great emancipator. But, even in that emancipation, which he was so reluctant to concede, Lincoln still never promised freedom. And with that understanding, his hesitancy was relieved. Yes, I can discuss the platform issues of each candidate, but the reality is that each voter has separate agendas in mind. Their primary question as they view the election-year snapshot is "Do I see myself in the picture ?" If they find themselves excluded or unsupported, whether it is related to home ownership, employment practices, educational reform, or military spending, then their vote is likely to go to the opposition. Of course, there are those who simply vote a particular party, regardless of the candidate. We can discuss those shackles another time. But, the fact is that Bob Dole is a politician in its truest machiavellian, manipulative sense. He has no real concern for the African American community or its progress, unless somehow certain issues if properly addressed will get him elected.
Bob Dole does not speak for, to, or about me, and I define me as my community !!!

If Bob Dole by some stretch of the imagination wins the presidency today,
I think we as Black people cannot lay down and quit working for justice.
We should individually and collectively put pressure on the President and
the congress to be responsive to the needs of the people. Since Congress
has to sign off on most changes we should continue to communicate with
our representatives and Senators letting them and the President know what
we expect and want. There use to be a saying the the "Squeaky wheel gets
the oil. We need to become more vocal and let both the White House and
the Congress know what we expect. If we don't, then regardless of who is in
office our needs won't be responded to. We have lived with Republican presidents
in recent times: namely Reagan and Bush. We also need to need to address our
future with Bill Clinton as President. We see how much he waffles. We need
to make him accountable also.

If Bob Dole wins, I think every afro american should arm themselves with weapons
learn survival techniques, and teach your children at home. There is no compassion
coming from the Republican Party and no respect for the poor working class people,
so you must arm yourself with education, weapons, and godly spirit.
