ASSEMBLY
March assembly will be on the Federal Mall area, beginning at the west front of the U.S. Capitol Bldg., extending 23 blocks past the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial in downtown Washington, D.C. -Accessible by subway/bus/cabs from Virginia and Maryland.

OUT-OF-TOWN BUSES/CARS
The hours of arrival for and unloading of buses/cars are 12 a.m.-4 a.m. on Oct. 16. It is critical that buses arrive within this time frame, if not earlier. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the same location. Buses should travel in large convoys and not separate on the highway. Estimated- 20,000 buses/40 chartered planes/1 boat (from Boston)/several trains
Drop off locations for transportation to the Mall area: 1. North & South Carolina-7th and E Streets S.W. 2. Georgia & Florida-(L'Enfant Promenade) 3. All states utilizing Interstate 81-North (The Kennedy Center) after crossing Roosevelt Memorial Bridge where bus drop off is stationed.) 4. Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois-Franklin Square (K St. between 13th & 14th Sts., N.W.) All states utilizing Interstate 270-East-(Washington Convention Center located at New York Ave. & H Sts., N.W.) 6. New Jersey, New York-H St. N.E. between N. Capitol & First St., N.E. 7. Baltimore-Washington Convention Center (New York Ave. & H Sts., N.W.) 8. Philadelphia-Stadium/Armory Complex (East Capitol & 14th Sts., S.E.) 9. MEDICAL
Medical Marshals, wearing special uniforms and I.D. badges, will be stationed throughout the march area. First Aid stations will be dispersed along the march area. Doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, etc., may volunteer to serve as Medical marshals. The Health Task Force recommends that marchers, eat a light breakfast, bring drinking water, wear comfortable clothing, shoes, hat, and wear a medical alert bracelet, if prescribed.
To accommodate those that might require medical attention, there will be 25 first aid stations and 150 Black doctors and nurses on hand. Also on hand will be 3,500 port-a-johns. For information, call 202-397-4000.
VENDING
Vending booths are available at $700 per booth, for a limited time. Also, there are specific guidelines for food vendors. Call Fontaine X Eaddy at 202-726-3961.
OTHER LOGISTICS
(SOUND) Six SONY Jumbo screen televisions and 600,000 pounds of speakers with delayed sound covering 23 city blocks.
MARCH MARSHALS NEEDED
Anyone with a law enforcement or military background or with formalized physical training can become a marshall volunteer to help maintain order in the march. Marshall applications and additional route information may be obtained by calling Ernest X Brooks at 202-726-5111.
LEGAL
Two Black legal organizations, The National Conference of Black Lawyers and The National Bar Association are overseeing legal concerns for the march. There will be a legal "command post" on the day of the march for anyone with legal problems at the Law Office of Attorney Donald Temple, 1200 G St. N.W., Suite 370, 202-628-1101. Also attorneys, and those who would like to volunteer as legal observers should contact Attorney Nkechi Taifa at 202-806-8119 and Attorney Gilbert Douglas at 202-628-4222. Legal seminars for volunteers will be held on Oct. 8 and Oct. 14 at the University of the District of Columbia.
SCHOOLS
D.C. Public Schools will be open. Excused absences will be granted to students with their parent's consent. The school system is encouraging teachers to use the march as a creative educational tool. Assemblies, and oratorical and poster contests relating to the event will be conducted within the schools.
