Choirs and Individuals are invited to lend their voices, in gospel, praise and worship and holy hip hop, to the Most Powerful Voices Gospel Competition.

Those who are interested should send audio or video performances to www.facebook.com/BaltimoreAHA to be entered for a chance to win up to $500 in musical equipment, vocal coaching from celebrity judges and an opportunity to perform at American Heart Association/American Stroke Association events.

More than just a competition or an outstanding worship opportunity, the event raises awareness of the prevalence of heart disease, and hopefully, inspires people to have themselves checked and to check their family histories.

Contest finalists will be determined based on the number of votes an audio or video file receives.

The top three contestants in each of the categories will receive an automatic invitation to the live performance, Oct. 13, at St. John Baptist Church, 9055 Tamar Drive in Columbia, Md.

Judges include Music World artist, Brandon Camphor, winner of the 2011 Most Powerful Voices contest and Rashida Jolley, America’s Got Talent contestant and opening act for Lady Gaga and John Legend.

For more information or to download a contest application, visit www.facebook.com/BaltimoreAHA or contact Jessica Moise at Jessica.moise@heart.org or call 703-248-1707.
