Paul George Goes Off on Washington to Lead Pacers to 3-1 Series Lead


Swingman Paul George had perhaps the best playoff game of his career, scoring a game-high 39 points with 12 rebounds to lead the top-seeded Indiana Pacers to a 95-92 win over the Washington Wizards in game four of the Eastern Conference semifinals May 11 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The Pacers now lead the series, 3-1.

George was on fire shooting the ball, making 7 of 10 shots from the three-point line and 8 of 10 from the free throw stripe. He also strapped up on defense, holding Wizards guard Bradley Beal to just three points in the fourth quarter. Beal finished with 20 points in the game.

Trailing by just three points with less than a minute in the game. Washington had an opportunity to tie the game but guard John Wall passed up a wide open three-pointer to set up Beal for an open look off a high screen. Beal missed the three and the Pacers were able to hold off Washington for the win.

Wall finished with 12 points and 7 assists; forward Trevor Ariza had 16 points with 9 rebounds.

Pacers center Roy Hibbert put up his third straight productive game, scoring 17 points with 9 rebounds. Guard George Hill had 15 points and forward David West had 14 points for Indiana.

The Pacers will host the Wizards in a possible elimination game on May 13 in Indiana. Tip off is at 7 p.m.
