Spurs Steal Game 3 in Miami

Kawhi Leonard scored a game high 29 points and guard Danny Green had 15 points to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 111-92 win over the Miami Heat in Game 3 of the NBA Finals in Miami, Fla. The Spurs now lead the best-of-seven series, 2-1.

Most basketball pundits expected Miami to win Game 3, given it was the first home game of the series for a Heat team that hasn't lost at home during the entire 2014 postseason so far. Instead, it was San Antonio who was clicking on all cylinders in a blowout win on the road.

Leonard and Green were fantastic in the first half, leading the Spurs with a combined 31 points. San Antonio was so thorough, they scored 71 points as a team in the first half, leading by 21 points at the break.

LeBron James and Miami made a run in the 3rd quarter, cutting the Spurs lead to 7 points at one point. But the lead was simply insurmountable and the Spurs pulled away with the much-needed victory.

Leonard was an incredible 10-of-13 from the field and Green scored 7-of-8 shot attempts. Guard Tony Parker also scored 15 points for the Spurs and forward Tim Duncan scored 15 points.

Heat stars Dwyane Wade and LeBron both scored 22 points in the loss. Forward Rashard Lewis added 14 points and guard Ray Allen had 11 points off the bench.

Miami will host Game 4 of the Finals series on June 12. Tipoff is at 9 p.m., Eastern Time.
