Maryland Teacher of the Year Program and Partnership Fund
 

BALTIMORE, Nov. 12, 2012 – Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) <http://www.bge.com/Pages/default.aspx>  today announced that it recently sponsored the Maryland State Department of Education’s Maryland Teacher of the Year Program and Partnership Fund as a platinum sponsor.  This program recognizes exemplary teachers who are not only excellent instructors, but also educational leaders in their schools and communities, and establishes a talent bank of individuals who guide education policy in Maryland. 

As a part of its commitment to building strong communities in central Maryland, BGE strongly supports educational initiatives like the Maryland Teacher of the Year Program and Partnership Fund. Since its founding nearly 200 years ago, BGE has played an integral role in working with Maryland communities to address economic development, public safety, civic issues and other initiatives that help enhance our neighborhoods.  Through the use of shareholder dollars, BGE supports programs that deliver measurable and sustainable impact in areas of energy efficiency and assistance, the environment, economic and community development, emergency response and safety, and education.
