Stephanie L.D. Hunt, 49


On Nov. 2, 2012, Stephanie Lorraine Dunn Hunt departed this earth. Born Stephanie Lorraine Brown to Charles Alfred and Ethel Marie Brown on May 21, 1963, Stephanie began her vibrant life that touched so many.

She attended and graduated from All Saints Junior High School and Seton High School in Baltimore. She attended Towson State University and the Broadcast Institute of Maryland where her career in radio, TV, marketing and public relations began.

In 1993 she met Karl Hunt and they were married October 5, 1996. Together they traveled frequently and were blessed with experiences and friendships that fulfilled both of their lives. Stephanie’s professional associations included: WBAL-AM, WBAL-TV, WJZ-TV Maryland Public Television, WWIN-AM/FM, WXYV-FM,WIYY-FM, and the Baltimore Sun. She wrote for Metropolitan Business News, JUBILEE Magazine and other local and national publications. She authored a collection of poetry entitled “Potpourri of Me”. In 1997 Stephanie began working full time as president of Dunn and
Associates PR. She created The Baltimore African American Home and Craft Show and the Baltimore African American Home and Garden Show.

She held board member and chair membership positions with the following organizations: The National Association of Female Executives, The Association of Black Media Workers, Saint Agnes Hospital Foundation, The United Way Baltimore County, Community Partnership Board, Junior Achievement of Central MD., Druid Hill YMCA, American Red Cross of Central MD PR Advisory Council, The Walters Art
Museum and the Joshua Johnson Council for the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Stephanie was a 2011 Enterprising Woman Honoree by Baltimore Business Journal and a 2011 Baltimore Business Journal Top Woman-Owned/Minority Owned Business. Stephanie was featured in Baltimore Smart CEO Magazine and served on the 2008 BRAVO Awards Committee for Smart CEO Magazine. She was a guest speaker for the Women in Leadership Symposium for the Towson State University’s Center for Applied Business and Research. In 2002 she was a special
honoree at the Cathy Hughes Entrepreneurship Dinner.

Stephanie always maintained a belief that everything is about relationships. She felt her most important relationships in her life were with God, her husband Karl, her sister Marsha, goddaughters Sierra and Stacey Shaw as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, close friends and colleagues.
