“MARYLAND LIVE! CASINO HOSTS 11TH ANNUAL CASEY CARES FOUNDATION”

Hello everyone! This will be a busy week for all of us. Let me start by saying that one of my favorite places, Maryland Live! Casino, has a special way of giving back to the community through the Casey Cares Foundation, a foundation that benefits critically-ill children served by Casey Cares and is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that provides personalized, uplifting programs with a special touch to  these children and family members throughout six states. The programs include: family festivals, celebration vacations, birthday blasts, Kami’s Jammies, Caring Connection and group parties. On Sept. 21, at the{ Rams Head Center Stage }at Maryland Live! Casino,  they will have their 11th  Annual Rock ‘n  Roll Bash. Guests can party the night away and meet the band members up close and personal. Musicians from world renowned bands jam for one night. Also there will be silent and live auctions. For ticket information, go to www.caseycaresfoundation.org or by calling 443-568-0064.

Help Tiger Lil’ celebrate her 70th birthday on Sept. 2,  from 5 to 9 p.m. at Melba’s Place, 3221 Greenmount Avenue.

For my art lovers: The James E. Lewis Museum of Art is hosting a monthly collectors forum. From now until Oct. 2 the Wasyl Palijczuk exhibition will be on display. (Wow! I am so glad I only have to type this name and not pronounce it). The guests have the chance to discuss their personal collection, exchange ideas and enhance their knowledge of art. The museum is located at 2201 Argonne Drive, inside the Murphy Fine Arts Center. For more information, call 443-885-3030 or go to: www.jelmamueseum.org.

Join jazz music lovers from all over for an afternoon of jazz on the pier in Fells Point. “Sunday Afternoon Jazz on the Waterfront” will feature Gary Bartza Grammy Award winner; he is Baltimore’s own, as well as being featured in Rosa Pryor’s latest Book, “African American Community, History & Entertainment in Maryland” (Remembering the Yester s 1940-1980), www.rambling-rose.com on Sept.  29, 2-6 p.m., at the {Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park} with The Latin Jazz Band, The Curtis Brothers, Chelsey Green and the Green Project and The Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra. The Afro-American Newspaper is one of its sponsors. For more information, go to www.abe-md.org.
