ANNAPOLIS, Md. (February 18, 2010) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will address representatives and stakeholders of the agricultural industry tomorrow during the Governor's 2010 Agricultural Forum. The strategic planning event, hosted by the Maryland Agricultural Community, will lay out a 15-year plan for the future of agriculture. Additional speakers include: Maryland Department of Agriculture Secretary Buddy Hance; Ed Kee, Secretary of Delaware Department of Agriculture, and noted expert and author on the history of agriculture in the region; and Tom Hartsock, Chair of Maryland Agricultural Commission.
Under the O'Malley-Brown Administration, 102 of the 109 recommendations from the Statewide Plan for Agriculture and Resource Management are accomplished or underway. The 2010 Governor's Forum moves the statewide plan forward to meet future needs of the agriculture industry.
