Cooling centers and energy assistance keys to avoiding heat-related illness and death
Baltimore, MD (July 13, 2010) – First Lady Katie O’Malley tomorrow will join Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Maryland Department of Mental Health and Hygiene Secretary John M. Colmers and other state officials at the Waxter Senior Center to discuss personal safety tips to help residents avoid the harsh effects of summer heat. In addition, steps to obtain energy assistance will be highlighted for those who need help paying their electricity bills.
