Comptroller Franchot Promotes Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week at Local Mall

WHAT: Comptroller Peter Franchot will announce details for Shop Maryland, the states tax free week. The Comptroller will be joined by mall representatives, as well as local elected officials, to promote the week long event which runs from August 8-14. Marylanders will be given a break on the 6 percent sales tax on all qualifying clothing and shoes during that time.
