CARDIN TO ADDRESS THE BALTIMORE COUNCIL ON FOREIGN AFFAIRS ABOUT THE MOVE TOWARD DEMOCRACY IN THE ARAB WORLD



Senator is member of Senate Foreign Relations Committee and co-chair of U.S. Helsinki Commission

On Monday, June 27, U.S. Senator Benjamin L. Cardin (D-MD), Senate chairman of the U.S. Helsinki Commission and a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will address the Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs about the move toward democracy in the Arab world.

The Senator’s speech, titled: “ … To the Shores of Tripoli: Democracy on the March in a post-Bin Laden World,” will focus on the historic nature of what has become known as the “Arab Spring” and opportunities and challenges that are ahead for building democracies in that region.

The Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs was founded in 1980 and is dedicated to educating citizens about foreign affairs.
