On Saturday, September 10, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will participate in the Annapolis Peace and Justice Center’s “9/11 Dialogue for Future Leaders” at St. John’s College. Senator Cardin will deliver a speech followed by a Q&A session. More than 150 students selected from colleges and high schools will be in attendance.
Topics to be discussed include: nonmilitary responses to terrorism, cybersecurity and social media, the role of international mediation and courts in resolving cross-border conflicts, the views of Islamic populations in the United States, and the Middle East’s “Arab Spring.” Other panelists include diplomats, journalists, academics, members of the Armed Services and noted humanitarian figures.
