ABERDEEN, Md. (September 7, 2011) – Tomorrow, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will deliver opening remarks at a meeting of the Northeast Maryland Higher Education Task Force at the Higher Education and Conference (HEAT) Center in Aberdeen.
During this year’s legislative session, the Lt. Governor worked with the General Assembly to pass legislation creating the Higher Education Task Force to identify short and long-term options to meet the educational needs of the Aberdeen Proving Ground region resulting from the Department of Defense’s Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) moves. Lt. Governor Brown is Chair of the Governor’s BRAC Subcabinet and leads the O’Malley-Brown Administration’s efforts to prepare the physical infrastructure and human capital to ensure a smooth BRAC transition.
