Comptroller Franchot to Visit Baltimore City, County Schools to Review State-Funded Construction Projects

WHAT: As a member of the Board of Public Works which votes on school construction funding throughout the state, Comptroller Peter Franchot will tour Waverly Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City and Milford Mill Academy in Baltimore County to review the progress of the construction projects currently underway at each school.

Baltimore City Public Schools has been approved to receive more than $18 million from the state for a replacement school for Waverly including more than $8 million that has been allocated for the project in Fiscal Year 2012. The state has allocated more than $2.5 million to Baltimore County Public Schools for the renovation of Milford. During each visit, he will join school officials who will provide him with the details of each project.
