WHAT: Comptroller Franchot, along with elected officials and members of area business organizations, will kick off his “Shop Maryland for the Holidays” campaign aimed at encouraging consumers to shop at local malls and retail stores rather than online this holiday season. Local shopping supports and maintains retail businesses, employs more than 500,000 hard-working Marylanders and keeps citizens’ hard-earned money in their communities, allowing for revitalization and sustainability of neighborhoods.
