NORTH EAST, Md. (May 18, 2012) – SUNDAY, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will deliver the commencement address before an audience of over 1,000 at the 43rd annual Cecil College Graduation Ceremony. The College has invited 220 candidates and expects to award 217 associate degrees and 46 certificates (some students may receive more than one degree or certificate). Many of the graduates will either remain in the community as part of its workforce or transfer to four-year institutions to pursue bachelor’s degrees.
Lt. Governor Brown leads the O’Malley-Brown Administration’s portfolio on higher education and has worked with Governor Martin O’Malley to help more Marylanders access affordable higher education opportunities, including making record investments in our community colleges by increasing funding by nearly 31 percent since 2007.
