LT. GOVERNOR BROWN TO SPEAK TO STUDENTS AT BALTIMORE LEADERSHIP SCHOOL FOR YOUNG WOMEN
BALTIMORE, Md. (September 12, 2012) –
TOMORROW, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will speak to the ninth grade class at the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW) as part of their Leadership Lecture Series.
The ninth grade class is the original class of girls admitted to the school and will be the first class to graduate in 2016. Following the assembly, Lt. Governor Brown will join BLSYW leadership for a tour of the school.
BLSYW is a Baltimore City charter school founded on the mission of preparing young women of Baltimore for success in college and life. The BLSYW curriculum emphasizes science, technology, engineering and math; areas in which women are typically underrepresented. In addition to a strong focus on rigor in the classroom, the school places a large importance on assisting students in the development of the leader within.
