STATEMENT FROM LT. GOVERNOR BROWN ON PASSING OF SENATOR CLARENCE M. MITCHELL III


ANNAPOLIS, Md. (October 11, 2012) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown released the following statement today on the passing of Senator Clarence M. Mitchell III:

"Maryland today lost one of its civil rights pioneers. Senator Mitchell not only helped forge a path for so many lawmakers and public officials who came after him, but, by championing civil rights legislation, helped ensure all Marylanders could enjoy equal rights under the law. My condolences go out to Senator Mitchell's family."
