CARDIN CONTINUES OUTREACH TO
FEDERAL WORKERS WITH TOWN
HALL AT NIH IN BETHESDA
On Friday, February 8 at 11:00am, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), a member of the Senate Finance committee, will hold a town hall with employees at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. This will be the kickoff for a new round of visits by Senator Cardin to federal facilities specifically to discuss the latest federal budget battles and looming sequestration with federal workers. After brief remarks, the majority of the session will be dedicated to Q&A from the NIH employees.
Senator Cardin works every day to ensure that the federal government is attentive to the issues of unique concern to the people who live and work in Maryland. This includes looking out for federal employees who have been contributed to our debt relief with a multi-year pay freeze; protecting resources for federal agencies headquartered in our state that could see serious cuts due to sequestration; helping small businesses navigate contracting and credit issues; protecting our environmental and cultural treasures; and much more. Senator Cardin believes that federal workers should not solely bear the brunt of America’s economic burden.
