WHAT: Back for the third year, Comptroller Peter Franchot will remind consumers of Shop Maryland Energy, a special weekend offering a tax break on certain ENERGY STAR products. The Comptroller will promote the weekend and unveil the list of products eligible for the initiative.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, February 16 through midnight on Monday, February 18, 2013, qualifying ENERGY STAR products will be exempt from Maryland’s six percent sales tax. A list of exempt and taxable items is available on the Comptroller’s Website atwww.marylandtaxes.com <http://www.marylandtaxes.com/
Shop Maryland Energy occurs each year from the Saturday immediately preceding the third Monday in February until the third Monday of February.
