LT. GOVERNOR BROWN TO ANNOUNCE
HOUSING COUNSELING GRANTS
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (February 13, 2013) – TOMORROW, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will join Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Secretary Raymond A. Skinner, Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler, housing counselors, and other state and local officials to announce millions in grant awards to members of the Maryland HOPE Counseling Network. The Network is a group of nonprofit agencies that provide assistance to individuals facing foreclosures, act as a resource to negotiate reasonable terms with mortgage servicers, and advise citizens on the best actions to take to save their homes. The announcement coincides with the launch of a marketing campaign reminding homeowners that they can get safe, reliable assistance at no cost through the Maryland Home Owners Preserving Equity (HOPE) initiative.
Tomorrow’s event is being held at Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ, home to Sowing Empowerment and Economic Development, Inc. (SEED), a provider of housing assistance services for residents in Prince George’s County and one of the funding recipients.
