CARDIN LAUDS CONFIRMATION OF MARYLANDER TOM

PEREZ AS U.S. LABOR SECRETARY

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) praised the Senate confirmation of Thomas “Tom” Perez today.  Perez is a former Secretary of Maryland’s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, and a former advisor to Senator Edward Kennedy.  "Tom Perez is a decent and hardworking public servant and I join all Marylanders in expressing our pride that he will be at the helm of one of our most important federal departments during this critical time in our nation’s economic recovery. Tom has a history of bringing labor and business together to solve tough problems.
