Comptroller Promotes Shop MD Tax-Free Week,

 

Presents Schaefer Award and Proclamation

WHAT:          Comptroller Franchot will be joined by local elected officials and retail industry representatives at Towson Town Center to announce details for Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week, which begins Sunday, August 11 and ends on Saturday, August 17. During tax-free week, qualifying clothing and shoes priced $100 or less will be exempt from Maryland’s 6 percent sales tax.

 

Prior to heading to Towson, the Comptroller will present the 2013 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award for Carroll County to the Human Services Program of Carroll County. The Comptroller will also visit the Towson Farmers Market, as well as present a proclamation to the Bill Bateman’s Bistro in Towson throughout the day.
