GOVERNOR O’MALLEY TO CELEBRATE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR IN BALTIMORE CITY AND COUNTY
Will join county and state officials in visits to Baltimore Design School and Hillcrest Elementary School
ANNAPOLIS, MD (August 26, 2013) — TODAY, August, 26, Governor Martin O’Malley will visit public schools in Baltimore City and County to celebrate the start of Maryland’s 2013-2014 academic school year.
In the morning, Governor O’Malley will join Senator Catherine E. Pugh, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Baltimore City Schools Interim CEO Tisha Edwards, and Maryland Institute College of Art President Fred Lazarus in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Baltimore Design School. Later, the Governor will join State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lillian Lowery and Superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools Dr. S. Dallas Dance for a visit to Hillcrest Elementary School.
