LT. GOVERNOR BROWN TO MEET WITH FAITH LEADERS TO DISCUSS OUTREACH FOR MARYLAND HEALTH CONNECTION



Continues outreach efforts leading up to October 1 launch of health insurance marketplace

LANDOVER, Md. (September 5, 2013) – FRIDAY at 9:30am, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will attend a meeting of the Collective Empowerment Group, Inc. to speak with over 70 faith leaders from around Prince George’s County about the faith community’s role in outreach efforts to inform Marylanders about new services and resources available through the Affordable Care Act. Earlier this week, the Lt. Governor joined Maryland Health Connection, Congressman Elijah Cummings and several other state and local leaders to unveil an advertising and outreach campaign to encourage Marylanders to explore health coverage options through the State’s new health insurance marketplace opening October 1.

 

The Collective Empowerment Group, Inc. is a Christian ministry of leaders from several member churches which seeks to collectively empower underserved communities through partnership with financial institutions, businesses, and other organizations. The Group currently has chapters in several other cities (including Baltimore), with the Prince George’s Co. chapter reporting over 150 churches partnering, representing over 200,000 members.
