BALTIMORE (Sept. 19, 2013) — This weekend, as part of Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE)’s steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship, the company is kicking off a recycling campaign at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. Starting this Sunday, students, parents and teachers from Green Street Academy will join volunteers from BGE’s Eco-Team to promote and increase recycling efforts with fans prior to entering M&T Bank Stadium during four Ravens home games in 2013. Nearly 40 volunteers will provide literature about the new recycling options at M&T Bank Stadium, talk about the benefits of recycling and collect recyclables throughout the stadium parking lots.

This is the second year BGE has teamed up with Green Street Academy and the Ravens to promote recycling with the fans at home games. Last year, with support from this joint effort, more than 13 tons of trash were recycled at M&T Bank Stadium. This equates to an increase of 3 tons of trash recycled, compared to the previous season.

“BGE has a long-standing commitment to enhancing the communities we serve, whether it is through philanthropic giving or employee volunteer opportunities, and we are proud to support the Baltimore Ravens and their fans, while doing our part to protect the environment,” said Luba Abrams, BGE Eco-Team president.

Fans attending games on the following four Sundays are encouraged to look for BGE and Green Street Academy volunteers to assist them with the recycling of their trash prior to entering the game:

·         Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 at 1 p.m., Ravens vs. Texans

·         Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at 1 p.m., Ravens vs. Packers

·         Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at 1 p.m., Ravens vs. Bengals

·         Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at 1 p.m., Ravens vs. Vikings
