CARDIN VISITS MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND, WITH A MESSAGE OF

PROMOTING VOTER RIGHTS AND FOSTERING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

 

Monday, Sept. 23, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), will visit Montgomery County. Md., to spotlight the need to protect the right to vote of Maryland citizens and to meet with Montgomery County elected officials and business leaders. All events will be open to media coverage.

 

WHAT:            Protecting Voter Rights - Senator Cardin, along with Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro, Congressman Chris Van Hollen, D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Grayand other community leaders speak out in support of action at all levels of government to improve and protect the right to vote of citizens in Montgomery County, Washington, D.C. and across the country.

WHAT:            Senator Cardin meets with the Montgomery County Council

Topics of discussion will include sequestration and the federal budget, transportation and infrastructure, as well as other issues of local concern.

Senator Cardin has been touring businesses around Maryland, especially manufacturers, to discuss how to expand manufacturing jobs in our state.  His goal has been to hear from leadership and employees how the federal government could be a better partner and remove obstacles to business growth.
