In this photo are the members of many oldies groups from Baltimore including the Royalettes, the Shalimars, the Whatnauts, the Softones, Frankie & the Spindles, First Class, Jimmy Brisco & the Little Beavers, Bobby Star, the Persians, Kenny Hamber, the Ravenettes and Winfield Parker.

Beverage Expo Highlights Coming Weekend

Hello everyone, I hope that all mommies enjoyed their Mother’s Day weekend. May 01, 2013 - Hey everyone! Honey child, the weather is wonderful! This is the time of the year when banquets, concerts and bull roasts are very popular. I love it. This month, I want you young people to take time out to visit your mother or your older family members if you are lucky enough to still have such a person in your life and take them out to dinner, out to the mall, to church or to one of these events I talk about in my column or maybe just a drive around our beautiful city for some fresh air. You know, it could be a neighbor or a friend. Life is so short and you will be surprised how good you will feel after you do this. Our elders should not be forgotten.more More Arrow

Carl and Barbara Grubbs are celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary. Grubbs is a nationally renowned musician, composer and educator. Grubbs and his wife Barbara created a foundation in 1997 called “Summer Music & Dance Camp. ”

April 03, 2013 - Hello everyone! Okay, today, I need your prayers. There is a lot going on with your “Rambling Rose” this week. By the time you read this column, I will have buried my brother William. He was such a beautiful person, very kind-hearted and giving person and I will miss him. Last week, I receive a call from my son, Keith, my first born, who lives in Philadelphia, Pa., and he was a cancer survivor for two years, but he informed me that his cancer is back and he is in stage 4. So you see; prayers, other than my own are needed. Thanks so much. Now let’s look at brighter things to come.more More Arrow
Boy Scout Troop 615, led by Dr. Marcelina Albuerne, won first place in the third annual “Hotter than Thou” Chili Cook-off, raising more than $1,500 for the homeless. The event was at the Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Drive in Ellicott City, Md.

January 23, 2013 - Hello everyone. How are you doing? I have to ask because everyone I have talked to has this cold/flu thing that is going around. It is a terrible situation. I had it for four weeks and it is not completely gone. This airborne thing has put people in the hospital. It is no joke. So if you have it, be very careful and take care of yourself and go to the doctor, if necessary. If you didn't get it, you are the lucky one. Wear a mask and have a cocktail a day to keep the germs away.more More Arrow
