D.C. Mayor to Sign Bill Raising DC’s Minimum Wage

WASHINGTON (AP) — D.C.'s mayor will sign a bill to raise the city's minimum wage to $11.50 in 2016.

Democratic Mayor Vincent Gray will sign the measure Wednesday morning. The D.C. Council approved the increase last month.

The District of Columbia's current minimum wage is $8.25. The bill will raise the minimum wage to $9.50 per hour on July 1, 2014, to $10.50 on July 1, 2015, and to $11.50 on July 1, 2016.
