Mother Dead, Toddler Grazed in D.C. Bus Shooting

Police say a mother was killed and her child grazed by a bullet in a shooting on a bus in Washington D.C.

The shooting occurred about 5:40 p.m. Dec. 9 near Minnesota Avenue and 19th Street. Police say 20-year-old Selina Brown was boarding the bus when she was shot.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 23-month-old daughter was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The bus driver also sustained a non-life threatening injury.

According to reports, Javon Foster, the suspected shooter and the father of the wounded child, was found dead in the New York City area the following day. Police say the 27-year-old shot himself in the head.
