Chabeli Arroyo was the grand prize winner of this year’s DC-CAPital Stars Talent Competition.  The event was held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on March 26.

A panel of celebrity judges, along with help from the audience selected the first, second and third place winners who received DC-CAP college scholarships.

Arroyo, a senior at the Duke Ellington School of the arts in Washington D.C., received a $10,000 scholarship towards her first year of college. She was a contestant in the vocal category. Duke Ellington seniors Savannah Cranford and Rocky Garcia were second and third place winners, respectively.
