Six faiths to share authentic traditional meditations


Interfaith teams from six faiths are scheduled to share their authentic traditional meditations with public audiences this fall. Ordained and lay religious leaders from the diverse doctrines will facilitate gatherings in churches, synagogues, temples, mosques, universities and community centers in the DC area.

Interfaith Meditation Initiative, a non-religious, non-sectarian, DC-based public charity announced the schedule inviting like-minded of all beliefs to enjoy pre-Thanksgiving relaxing moments with kindred spirits.

There are no required fees to attend. People of all faiths, and of no specific faith, may participate.

The schedule includes:

* Christian and Buddhist leaders guiding meditation together on:
7:30 – 8:45 p.m., Oct. 22
Our Lady Queen of Peace

* Baha’i and Buddhist leaders guiding meditation together on:
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Oct. 28
Baha’i Center of Washington, D.C.

* Hindu and Jewish leaders guiding meditation together on:
6 – 7:30 p.m., Nov. 4
India International School

* Muslim and Christian leaders guiding meditation together on:
7:30 – 9:45 p.m., Nov. 12
