On May 10, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) received the 2013 Robert C. Weaver Housing Champion Award from the Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County. Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett presented the award.

The Robert C. Weaver Housing Champion Award honors those individuals who have had a significant impact on affordable housing. The award, sponsored by the Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County, Maryland, is named in honor of Dr. Robert C. Weaver, the first Secretary of HUD and the first African American to hold a Presidential Administration Cabinet position.
