A myriad of student-athletes from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore have earned a place on the 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.

To earn all-academic honors, student-athletes of sophomore academic standing or higher must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better through the 2012-13 season. 51 UMES student-athletes were inducted into team.

“I am excited to highlight the 882 student-athletes who maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2012-13 academic school year,” MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas said in a statement. “I would like to commend the administrators, athletic academic support staff and personnel, coaches, institutions, and parents for their contributions to the academic success of these student-athletes.”
