CBAC Gaming, LLC, the Caesars Entertainment Corp.-led consortium developing Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, recently announced that gaming industry veteran Alex Dixon will serve as vice president and assistant general manager of the $400 million downtown Baltimore property. Pending regulatory approvals, Dixon will assume the position June 1.

Dixon joined Caesars Entertainment in May 2008 and served as the director of planning and analysis for such high-profile Las Vegas casinos as Paris, Bally’s and Planet Hollywood. In that position, Dixon managed the financial budgeting and capital allocation processes for properties with combined gross revenues of more than $1 billion. Immediately prior to being named vice president and assistant general manager of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, Dixon served as chief of staff to Caesars Entertainment President of Enterprise Shared Services John Payne. In that role, Dixon played an integral role in the development of the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore as well as projects in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Boston.

In his new position, Dixon will oversee the daily operations of the casino while upholding the industry leading standards of Caesars and the Horseshoe brand. He will report directly to Horseshoe Casino Baltimore Senior Vice President and General Manager Chad Barnhill.

“Alex’s financial and operational expertise will be tremendous assets as we prepare to open a world-class gaming entertainment facility in Baltimore next year,” Barnhill said in a statement. “Alex’s broad knowledge of the casino industry will be instrumental in ensuring we deliver an exceptional experience to our customers and manage our relationships with vendors, business partners and community stakeholders with unsurpassed professionalism.”

Prior to joining Caesars in 2008, Dixon served in New York, London and Los Angeles as an analyst with Goldman Sachs & Co. and in Las Vegas as an associate with Silver Pacific Advisors, LLC. Dixon graduated from the Howard University School of Business in 2003 with a degree in finance.

Committed to community service, Dixon has served as treasurer for Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas and president of the Las Vegas Urban League Young Professionals. He was also appointed to the Clark County (Nevada) Committee on Community Priorities. Dixon will reside in Baltimore with his wife and three children.
