Senior D’Andre Payne scored a 60-yard receiving touchdown and recorded an interception on defense as the H.D. Woodson Warriors easily beat Wilson, 25-13, in the annual DCIAA Turkey Bowl on Thanksgiving Day at Eastern High School in Northeast Washington, D.C.

Woodson jumped out to an early 13-0 lead after a touchdown run by senior running back Jai Carson. The touchdown was set up by an interception snatched and returned into Wilson’s territory by Payne.

Wilson cut the score to 13-7 but Woodson quickly scored on a 60-yard touchdown catch by Payne.

Woodson pushed the score to 26-7 in the fourth quarter after Payne set up a touchdown score with a long punt return.

Woodson improved its record to 10-3, while Wilson ended its season at 9-4.

Woodson will face the winner of the Nov. 30 game between McKinley Tech and Friendship Collegiate.
