(July 25, 2009) - July has been full of fun with AFRAM, Artscape, concerts, and celebrities coming in and out of the city. The good times continue this week with some of music’s biggest rap artist hitting the town, films on the Broadway Pier, and much more!

Artscape brought in the biggest crowd in its history last weekend. Citizens enjoyed art and fashion shows, vendors, live music, and great food. R&B singer Robin Thicke was the headliner of the event.

Events 4 Good People CEO Azikiwe (center) celebrated his birthday again this weekend. The popular party/event planner held another celebration at Red Maple (930 N. Charles St.) on Sunday night. Kendra Bell and WOLB radio personality Catalina Byrd co-moderated a diverse panel discussing the latest installment of Black in America on CNN this week. The event was held at Sweet Tooth Dessert Shop (111 Hollins St.). Delegate Jill P. Carter, Educator Rev. Kevin A. Brooks from the Freedom Center, Marc Clarke, and many more led the discussion.

This Friday night be sure to check out Paradise on the Terrace at Bourbon Street (316 Guilford). Nikki Minaj. O.J. the Juiceman, and Gucci Mane will be performing at the Velvet Rope (200 E. Redwood on Saturday night.

Until Next Week,

Mia
