Will Jesse Jackson Jr. Replace Obama in Senate?

The Hill reports that Illinois political insiders say Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is the favorite to replace Barack Obama in the Senate if Obama is elected president. But another insider, Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), also wants Obama’s seat.

This gives Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who must choose between an African-American political scion and a close ally of the labor movement, a difficult decision.
