The body was discovered around 7 a.m. on the 1500 Block of Bentalou Street. Police would not release the identity of the victim pending notification of relatives. There were also no details publicly available on what evidence pointed to suicide.

The basketball court is located in Eastwood Park, directly across the street from Carver High School. By noon, the basketball court cleared out, and there were no signs of a police investigation in the area that followed.

The Maryland State Medical Examiner’s Office makes the final determination on a manner of death, including suicide. There are no comments coming forth from that office regarding the suicide determination as of yet. The examiner’s office would not confirm if an autopsy had been performed on the body.
