Man Arrested for Attempted Murder at ATM Machine

Baltimore City Detectives arrested 20-year old Lamar Caldwell of the 900 block of Meadowbrook Road, for the shooting of a 30-year old man, in the 400 block of Freeman Street.

On Jan. 6, 2017 at approximately 12:39 p.m. Southern District patrol officers responded to the 400 block of Freeman Street for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim, a 30-year old male suffering from gunshot wounds to both ankles.

Medics were dispatched to the scene and the victim was transported to an area hospital. His condition was unknown at press time.

Initial investigations revealed the victim was at the ATM machine when he was approached by an unidentified male suspect who attempted to rob him. The suspect pulled out a handgun and proceeded to strike the victim multiple times, the suspect than shot the victim in both the left and right ankle, before fleeing the scene.

Caldwell was arrested on Jan. 13, and transported to Central Booking where he has been charged with attempted first degree murder and numerous assault and robbery charges.
