Marion LeRoy Fleming, Jr, an early innovator in the Washington DC Go-Go Funk sound, entered into eternal rest on 12 March 2013. Mr. Fleming was a Gold Record recipient during his tenure with Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers, selling one million copies of the chart topping single record “Bustin’ Loose.”

Mr. Fleming was a founding member of The Young Senators and performed on the international stage with former Temptation Eddie Kendricks.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Ms. Massie Scott Fleming. Also survived by aunts Jennie Scott Maclin, Gloria Scott and Elizabeth Fleming; uncles Alfred E. Scott and Herman L. Maclin; other relatives and a host of friends. Services were held March 22 at Albright Memorial United Methodist Church and were officiated by the Rev. John T. Jennings with interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring.
