Comptroller Franchot to Speak at dedication of Bioscience Ed Center at Montgomery College

WHAT:           Comptroller Franchot will speak during a program to dedicate the new Bioscience Education Center at Montgomery College-Germantown Campus today. The new center is the centerpiece of the campus’ drive to create a bioscience/training center for residents of Montgomery County as well as Maryland.

The state-of-the-art building will allow the college to expand its mission to provide educational excellence in the sciences to meet the county’s need for a highly-skilled and knowledgeable STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) workforce. As the academic cornerstone of the planned life sciences park, the 141,000-square-foot building will provide opportunities for undergraduate research and expansion of course offerings.

Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard will lead the dedication program. There will be a reception and tour of the building afterward.
